Owing to the sheer volume of cricket this week this report will thankfully keep to the basics. On a hot hot day, in a land far faraway, on a pitch very unlike our own, Leith Beige 2’s (Liege) arrived reasonably promptly to make good use of the facilities provided. Captain McKean nipped out of the shade, onto the pitch, and lost the toss. Fielding then. The wickets were shared equally amongst the bowlers with Surabh, Satish, Bennifer Lopez, Ed Methane, and Mr Vaj all taking 1 apiece. A run out made for seven down with 173 on the board. Special mention must go for the new double act -. Methane and ol’ buckets hands. Bucket hands parries it up from gully so Mr Methane can catch it at deep point - a satisfying act I can assure you. A total to chase then and off we go. Pavan and McCord started well until a schoolboy running error left The’ Vaj’ high and dry on 16. McCord would go onto top score with 43 before being clean bowled. New boy Jamie ‘Jeremy’ Brewis justified his selection with a stylish 16 and ’some giant’ Linklater made a dozen. However a certain Mr Wide was to gift the Liege a grand total of 24 - ta very much don’t mind if we do- The ‘Goop’ and Methane finished off what they started and The Liege coasted home with seven overs to spare - Jeremy Irons would have been delighted. So Leige win by 4 wicketsGood bowling all round McCord 43, Gupta 20, Brewis 16 Vajihala 16 Points, when accredited, mean prizes McCord 2, Methane1, Brewis 1, Gupta 1, Namboodiry 1, Small clubs cup on Sunday Public parks on Monday!

Congrats to Skip McKean for setting a cracking field (as usual) and also for starring in another Middsy (soon to hit Holly/Bollywood) classic piece of cinematography!
